While there have been ways to get a similar experience on the Raspberry Pi before now, official support from Valve for this functionality is always welcome. Seems that there’s already a few hiccups in these early days. Those who have been playing around or intend to do so, remember to leave your feedback and bug reports in the forums.
Going off of the comments from people who have had a chance to use this setup, the experience is good with some minor problems like lag, but this is to be expected, especially with this early version. The software is limited to the the Raspberry Pi 3 and 3 B+ ( like the one we just gave away) using Raspbian Stretch.
This was announced a few hours ago on the Steam Link discussion page. Steam Link – the software that lets your run any Steam game on your PC and play it on another device by way of streaming – is now in beta for the Raspberry Pi.
